Romans 10:13-15: Speak
Discussion notes based on the sermons preached the morning and evening of 5-6-22
STUDY MATERIAL
Read the passage (Romans 10:13-15) again and don’t forget to start your meeting in prayer.
Particularly ask that the Holy Spirit would guide your discussion and help you to apply what is said in Scripture to your lives today. Sermons are available on the St John’s website or YouTube channel.
Sermon Outline
Our vision as a church is encapsulated in 3 words: Revive, Build, Speak. These sermons focussed on SPEAK – purposeful growing in our witness.
QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION
Go round the group each telling your story about how Jesus saved you. Imagine you’re explaining to someone who doesn’t know Jesus yet. See if you can do it in under 3 minutes.
If you have any time remaining after the above exercise:
How would you explain the logical progression of what Paul is saying in Romans 10:13-15?
Why is speaking to others about Jesus hard? Why is it really important to do? What does telling the gospel (the good news!) to others include? (See Romans 4:25)
What comfort do we have as we speak? (See Matt 28:16-20 and Acts 2:1-24)
How can we help each other speak about Jesus?
Prayer:
Praise God for Jesus and the amazing good news of the gospel concerning him that we have heard. Thank God specifically for the people who spoke to you about Jesus.
Praise God that Jesus and his Holy Spirit are with us as we go to speak to others about the gospel.
Pray for boldness to speak to others of Jesus. Pray for an opportunity to share your story of what Jesus has done for you.
