Sermon Outline
God has brought many different people, who were separate, together in Christ in order to dwell with them together by His Spirit.
QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION
Read Ephesians 2:11-13
- In what ways does Paul describe how we were ‘formerly’?
- In what ways do we experience this now?
- What aspects of your background, perhaps sub-consciously, do you use to divide yourself from other Christians?
Read Ephesians 2:14-18
- What has God done about the division?
- How has he done it?
- How might these verses help you forgive a Christian who has hurt you deeply?
Read Ephesians 2:19-22
- How does Paul explain God’s reconciling work in even more amazing terms here?
- What is all this built upon? How are we in danger of replacing or neglecting that?
- How does this passage change your view of church? Both when we are meet together and when we are alone?
Prayer
Praise God for reconciling all sorts of different people in Christ.
Pray that as a church we would be a holy people dependent on His Word that God dwells with by his Spirit. Pray for reconciliation with Christians that you need to be reconciled with.
