Dear church family

‘Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel.’ Philippians 1:12

‘Lockdown’ was named this week, as Collins Dictionary word of the year. Unsurprisingly, it’s usage has increased 6,000% and is defined as ‘the imposition of stringent restrictions on travel, social interaction, and access to public space’. It’s a word that has an extremely negative image, one that we all can identify with!  However, when we read Philippians we are challenged with the fact that Paul was in ‘lockdown’, imprisoned and under guard, yet is able to say that this had ‘actually served to advance the gospel.’  He didn’t see his restricted situation as preventing the spread of the good news, for he knew that God’s purposes can never be restricted.  As we face these difficult days, can I encourage you to see them like Paul, as an opportunity to advance the gospel, becoming ‘confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.’(Philippians 1:14). Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the word for Christmas on everybody’s lips is not lockdown but SALVATION!

Carol Service ‘Add Your Voice’
URGENT action required by Sunday please!  This Christmas our Carol Service is going online. We are putting together a virtual choir and we would love you to add your voice. The plan is to get as many people as possible to record themselves singing a carol and put them all together to make something wonderful for our Virtual Carol Service this Christmas. All you need to know is on the link below, so click here to add your voice.
