Dear sisters and brothers in Christ

‘For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to people.’   Titus 2:11

The countdown to Christmas is well and truly underway and that’s also true for St John’s. There are so many opportunities for us to share this salvation to people, here are just a few:

–  from tomorrow onwards you can invite friends to visit the ‘Still’ Nativity display inside and outside the church.

–  it’s also not long until the ‘Doorstep Community Carol‘ next Saturday the 12th – this is the week to be inviting your neighbours to join in.

–  or perhaps you know someone who would be interested in finding out who Jesus is, and why he came.  Please be praying and inviting people to the next basic Christianity course in the New Year called ‘Just Looking’.

Sunday Morning
I’m pleased to say that both morning services will be in-person, with the 11:15am livestreamed on St John’s YouTube channel. Please can I remind you that the same restrictions apply as before this second lockdown. Following the 9:15am service there will be ‘Virtual Refreshments’ for those viewing from home, click below:

Christmas Gift Opportunities
A number of our mission partners/associate partners have shops that you might like to consider supporting this Christmas:
Tanzania & Go Make a Difference (GoMAD)
Online gift shop – https://www.gomakeadifference.co.uk/gift-shop. All money raised through the online gift shop will go directly to the projects in Mara dioceses, from mosquito nets to goats, tree planting schemes, and malaria testing and treatment kits.
Tanzania & Ben and Katy Ray (CMS)
Neema Crafts makes beautiful handmade cushions, bunting and pencil cases in Iringa in Tanzania. Every product is unique and many of the colourful products feature African animals, colours and fabrics  https://www.goodthingsgifts.co.uk/collections/neema-crafts

Finally, some of you have asked me about the Greenwich Winter Night Shelter. Despite not being able to operate this year because of CV-19, I’m pleased to report that they are going to be doing a Food Takeaway Scheme beginning on Monday. There are opportunities for people to be involved, please go to: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/GWNS_VAF_2020_21_0

Volunteers are needed to prepare food, cook, welcome guests, serve food, clear away, support with admin, collection and distribution of supplies.

Grace and peace to you in the Lord Jesus.
