Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,

‘Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice!  Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.‘   2 Corinthians 13:11

I love movies and books which have a happy ending. So often that seems like a Hollywood fantasy, for life doesn’t always follow that script. Paul has had some difficult words to say to the church in Corinth, yet he closes his second letter with some reasons to be hopeful. These are not superficial or trite words, they are full of encouragement for us to keep going and press forward together. How is this possible we may ask? Paul assures us that God’s ‘love and peace will be with‘ us. As we tip toe towards further relaxation of restrictions can I encourage us to make the most of the June Picnics that will be starting soon. I believe these will be important opportunities to restore our fellowship, to encourage each other in our faith and draw us together in peace.

JUNE PICNICS

A wonderful chance to meet new people and those you’ve not seen for sometime by spending time together as we come out of lockdown!   Please remember to sign up as a guest or host (or both) by 6th June. Use the form here   https://forms.gle/15GCNiBHtQnnmqTPA or email/call the office if you need help signing up.

SUNDAY

This Sunday is ‘Mission Sunday’ (9.15 & 11.15) and we will be hearing from a variety of people we support as a church.  The Mission Newsletter is available here:  MISSION NEWSLETTER – JUNE 2021.pdf

Sunday evening 6pm we will be continuing our ‘ONE’ series on unity as a church. This week we will be thinking about ‘ONE Faith’.

COOKING VOLUNTEERS
We provide a week of meals for families who’ve just welcomed a child and also any other members of the congregation in need of support.  If you would like to join the group of volunteers, or would like to receive meals, please get in touch with Becca Hart via phone 07980373351 or email rebeccaannepollard@doctors.org.uk
BAPTISMS/THANKSGIVINGS

It has been a long time since we were able to conduct these within the church services. If you are thinking of this for your child, we would now welcome enquiries to make provisional bookings, please contact Cathy on office@stjohnsblackheath.org.uk

With grace and peace in the Lord Jesus,

Eddie
