Dear church family,
I want you to know that we are working hard on the plans to open the church for public worship. This is going to take time as the guidelines are complicated andthere is much to be thought through and done, but we hope to start experimenting with some form of church service during August. Please pray about this, that people will be safe and that we bear with one another as the situation evolves. I will keep you updated as I have further information.
I do have some wonderful news to share. Congratulations to Annie and Rees Philip-Howell who’ve had a baby girl, Summer Vivienne Ottilie, born 26 June. Please pray for them and brother Jesse too! It’s great to have some good news to share with you and reminds us that we have a good God. Psalm 34.8 says ‘Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.‘ Those who seek the Lord discover that he not only saves but that he also satisfies. ‘Taste’ doesn’t suggest a sip or a nibble; it implies feeding on the Lord through his Word and experiencing all he has for us. David who wrote these words had experienced the goodness of God’s protection, but the greatest goodness he received was drawing nearer to God and enjoying Him. When we taste just how good God is it will turn into a feast!
The online morning service continues to be available at 10am on Sunday. The Zoom evening service will be at 6pm where we will be starting a new sermon series on the Psalms under the title ‘Refresh‘ – I think we can all do with this! I do appreciate that fatigue with virtual services is setting in and the novelty is wearing off, but please can I encourage us to keep going. Although not as good as meeting together, I really value these times to connect with God.
Have a great weekend
The Zoom link is the same each week but, in case you’re struggling
