Dear church family

‘On the third day he rose again … I believe in the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen’ The Apostle’s Creed

This time last year we were in the grip of the first wave of the pandemic. We were in a tight lockdown, the church building was closed, the streets were deserted and life had been turned upside down! The past year has been truly dreadful and we must not minimise the impact on us as a church family and as a nation. Yet this Easter feels different, yes there is much uncertainty, but there is much hope that the tide has turned.

As we think about the story of Jesus we realise that in his death and resurrection the tide has turned. We have been given ‘… new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.’  Isn’t that amazing!  Just dwell on that for a moment… we have an inheritance that can NEVER perish, spoil or fade!  On the third day Jesus rose from the dead and because of that we can have this extraordinary hope. I pray this Easter time that we will look more and more to the third day and know this reality in our lives – that the tide has turned!

Happy Easter, Eddie
