Friday letter from Chris

Dear brothers and sisters,

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe” (Hebrews 12:28). What a wonderful reminder that, even though we may feel shaken – and indeed our lives and world are deeply shaken at the moment – the kingdom of heaven is unshakeably safe and secure for whoever trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ. May we worship HIm with thankful hearts!

With so much neediness and so little power of our own, let’s keep praying to God for our community, nation, world and ourselves. Months ago we had planned this coming week as a week of 24/7 prayer, and how we need prayer all the more now. If you can, please pick weekly prayer times from the attached document so that we’re continually asking God to show mercy and grow his kingdom.

For this Sunday’s 10am online service, song words will again be on the video; they are also in the attachment alongside the Service of the Word card. Children’s materials will be on the website and Matt continues to contact those who need Youth materials. Please tell us if you need these and aren’t getting them.

Looking ahead, to help celebrate Jesus’s resurrection as a church family at Easter (next Sunday already!), we’re all invited to send in a 3-5-second video clip of us/our households saying “Happy Easter”, “Jesus is alive”, “He is risen” etc. The more creative the better – send to before Thursday 9th April or ideally before!

I remind you that the Foodbank still needs food and volunteers – email if you can help.

Finally, if you or anyone you know need particular support, or if you would like to connect with others from St John’s and aren’t sure how to go about it, please just email
