Church Administrator Required


St. John’s, Blackheath is looking for an organised, proactive, flexible and experienced administrator. The Administrator will report to the Vicar and will be a pivotal member of our staff team of six.  The job would suit someone who likes a varied role and who enjoys working as part of a team but is also able to work autonomously.

The church is in an exciting phase of growth and you will want to play your part in sharing this vision and be instrumental in supporting the Vicar and this thriving church.

Your duties will range from managing the Vicar’s complex diary, producing various documents, organising a cohesive filing system for the office, helping with events and marketing materials, financial matters, dealing with church correspondence, updating the website and ad-hoc projects. You will be able to deal with a wide range of duties and handle a diverse group of people and situations, with a calm and efficient manner.

Genuine Occupational Requirement for a Practicing Christian: Part of the Administrative tasks is to play a key role in representing the church to members of the public and to develop and maintain existing relationships with Church staff and other key volunteers. As part of a small team, there is an expectation that all team members will be able to perform a variety of tasks in a number of settings, including Christian church events and meetings. There is therefore a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the Administrator to be a practicing Christian.
