Will YOU be ringing!

Friday 27th July—Big Ringing welcome—7.45am

On the opening day of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, BELLS will be rung throughout the country as the UK welcomes 205 Nations from around the world.

In this once-in-a-lifetime event, people across the UK are being encouraged to ring different kinds of bells – alarm clock bells, bicycle bells, boat bells, mobile phone bells, church bells, cowbells, hand bells, school bells, town hall bells, and of course jingle bells – to usher in the most hotly anticipated sports event of the decade.

So please come and join us in this ‘big ringing welcome’ on Friday 27th July at 7.45 AM.

Just bring a bell to St John’s by 7.45am ready to join people all across the UK who at exactly 8am will ring bells to perform Martin Creeds Work no 1197. Bells will be rung as quickly and loudly as possible for just 3 minutes accompanying a piece specially commissioned by the London 2012 Festival.

Followed by coffee, juice and croissant!

The CHURCH BELL will be rung in celebration too!
