About Our Services
To see what themes and readings we are following in all our services please see our Service Programme
8.30am Holy Communion (Sundays)
This is a traditional service of Holy Communion using the words and prayers from the Book of Common Prayer. We are always pleased to welcome newcomers to the service. People find this is a quiet place for private prayer, worship and biblical teaching. This service has a break during the whole of August each year.
10.30am Morning Service (Sundays)
This is a friendly and mixed gathering where we seek to include people of all ages and backgrounds. We enjoy being together as a family and particularly want to welcome children and young people. There is a creche and children’s activities from ages 0-14years. Many people come to St. John’s from different backgrounds, traditions and beliefs. We value the place of the Bible and use the sermons to help us learn and live out its teaching. The service is followed by tea and coffee, giving us an opportunity to make friendships and serve each other. The services will sometimes include: holy communion, baptism, all-age worship and prayer ministry with special events to help us celebrate festivals throughout the year.
6.00pm Evening Service (Sundays)
This is a relaxed space providing an opportunity to pray, worship, build friendships and grow in faith. We are developing new ways forward in helping people participate in the service and connect with each other and God. We hope you will enjoy the creativity and informality; come and find out what is going on.
10.30am Wednesday Communion
A traditional holy communion followed by coffee. An opportunity to pause for thought and connect with God during the week. We value this opportunity for building community together and would love to see more people join us. This service has a break during the whole of August each year and the Wednesday between Christmas Day and New Year.
9.00am Morning Prayers (Monday – Fridays)
Start the day with prayer. Join us for 20 minutes to come together and pray for our community, world and each other. All welcome.
