Care for the Elderly
One of our Readers, Brenda Webb, takes primary responsibility for pastoral care of older people within St John’s and also for our involvement with the elderly in Our Parish and beyond; this includes visiting the housebound and taking them communion.

Meetings and Services
There is a fellowship meeting in sheltered accommodation in the Parish once a fortnight and a service is held at Tudor Grange once a month.
Homegroups
There is currently one afternoon homegroup which serves older people.
Pam’s Pantry
On the first Tuesday of each month a team of helpers, lead by Pam Moseling, prepares a three course lunch for the elderly at the Boy’s Brigade Hall. The lunches are attended by about 30 people and Peter the vicar usually gives a short talk during lunch and we close with prayer and a hymn. Please visit What’s on @ St John’s to find out the dates for this year.
Other Activities
Each year we also run a ‘Holiday at Home’ event in the church for older people, as well as an Easter tea and a Christmas lunch which include a talk and hymns.
This years ‘Holiday at Home’ will run on the 3rd and 4th August 2011 in church and will include a cream tea, quizzes, lunch at a pub, a recital and much more! Please contact Brenda via the church ofice to book your place.
A new regular activity is ‘Songs of Praise’. Please contact the church office to find out when the next one is taking place.
