St John’s ‘At Home’ or ‘Weekend Away’
What is it?
Every year in October, we take the chance to spend time together. On alternate years we either have a ‘Weekend Away’ at High Leigh Conference Centre in Hertfordshire or have a ‘Weekend at Home’ in St John’s.
What is it for?
The St John’s ‘Weekend Away’ or ‘At Home’, is time for us as a church family to pray and praise God together, to make new friends and to catch up with old ones in relaxed surroundings.
‘At Home’
When is it ?
The next St John’s ‘Weekend at Home’ is 5th – 7th October 2012. It will start on Saturday morning and finish with an All Age service at 3.30pm on the Sunday. NB this will be the only service that day.
Who is it for?
This is for everyone at St John’s!
Where is it?
‘At home’ here in Blackheath.
What is it about?
The aims are: a) to be inspired about connecting our faith with daily life and b) getting to build friendships in the church
What about Youth and Children?
There will be activities for all ages over the weekend.
How much does it cost?
The cost is only £15 for adults and free for children
This is your church, this is your weekend!
‘Weekend Away’
When is it?
The next St John’s Weekend Away will be in 2013. It will start on the Friday evening and finish on Sunday afternoon.

Youth
The weekend is a great opportunity for the young people to spend time together and to get to know each other better. They have the opportunity to do a variety of things including participating in the adult sessions as well as having their own Legacy sessions.
Children
The children always have a fantastic time! They can play in the grounds together in a friendly and safe atmosphere. During the main sessions there’s a full programme of children’s events, combining activities and teaching in an informal setting.
Creche
A crèche for the under 3’s is provided during the main sessions.
