The vicar of St. John’s is a member of the school’s governing body and the church supports the school through prayer and involvement.

Students from Blackheath Bluecoat visit St. John’s on a regular basis for special services and events throughout the year.

We are seeking ways of being more involved in the chaplaincy and pastoral sides of the school life and if you would like to be part of this please contact Peter Farley-Moore.

For further details about the school please visit the Blackheath Bluecoat School website.

Future of the school

At the end of January 2012  Greenwich Council cabinet members voted in favour of closing BBCS in July 2014. Please pray for the staff and students at the school who have been saddened and effected by this decision. Greenwich Council and the Diocesan Board of Education are in discussion about the future of Church Secondary Education in the borough – please pray for a positive outcome to these discussions and a firm commitment from the council to open a new CE school in Greenwich in the coming years.
